Pureprint Group wins Big Tick for Impact on Society

Pureprint Group wins Big Tick for Impact on Society

  • Pureprint has been awarded a Big Tick in the 2008 Business in the Community (BITC) Excellence Awards
  • The Group won the Big Tick for the Impact on Society Award for SMEs
  • The Big Tick led into being awarded Small Company of the Year with an Award of Excellence

Pureprint Group has been awarded a Big Tick in this year’s BITC Excellence Awards announced in the Financial Times on the 29th May 2008. The Group won the Big Tick in the Impact on Society Award for an SME. This award is given to those SMEs that through leadership and integration of corporate responsibility are improving their business and their overall impact on society - in the marketplace, the workplace, the environment and the community.
Peer-assessed and independently assured the BiTC Big Tick awards are the most respected endorsement of responsible business practice in the UK and are now in their eleventh year. The Awards are decided by a panel of independent, experienced practitioners, and as such are both hard won and highly prestigious.
Pureprint has won the Big Tick after demonstrating responsible business practice and achievements in a number of operational and commercial areas. Some of the highlights of the Group’s performance include:

  • 79% staff satisfaction score in their 2007 customer satisfaction survey
  • 43% of staff attracted to the company because of its social responsibility
  • £100k of savings per annum through a more efficient and environmentally friendly use of resources
  • 68% of customers’ buying decisions highly influenced by the Group’s social responsibility credentials
  • 52% of the Group’s employees have changed their approach to the environment as a result of working at Pureprint
  • 69% of the Group’s customers have changed their views on environmental issues as a result of dealing with Pureprint

Stephen Howard, Chief Executive, Business in the Community said:

“I congratulate all the winners of a Big Tick this year. It is fantastic to see so many strong examples of responsible business practice. The Big Tick is now recognised as both a valuable and difficult award to achieve. It means a company has demonstrated ways in which they positively make a difference to the environment, their workplace, the community or in the market place in which they sell, advertise or trade.

Those who achieve the Big Tick are leading companies, ones that run their businesses aware that they depend above all on the talent, innovation and loyalty of their people. They know that they cannot build a successful sustainable business without constantly showing their commitment to being a better business.

Business in the Community mobilises business for good. The Awards for Excellence is our annual benchmark of the very best. It is reassuring to see such a high standard in all the Big Tick winners this year.”
