· Pureprint was one of 26 companies that applied to tender
· Chosen for “high quality of print, contribution to the environment and overall best value.”
30th January 2009 - Pureprint Group has secured a 5-year contract with the University of Essex which will include print and design work of up to £300-400,000 per year.
The University of Essex is one of the UK's leading academic institutions having recently been ranked 9th in the country for the quality of its research, boasting 3 campuses and more than 9,000 students. In a recent research assessment exercise the University was confirmed as the leading institution for social sciences. Essex is also one of the UK's most internationally diverse Universities, with students from over 130 countries.
The University operates its own state of the art Printing Services Unit which meets part of the institution’s requirements and has been seeking through competitive tender, a printing partner that could fulfil all their larger format needs such as the Prospectuses, Annual Review and a variety of brochures and marketing collateral.
Pureprint’s strong environmental message and their ability to delivery cost savings with their different press formats were key factors in securing the contract.
Keith Mason, Deputy Director of Estate Management (Purchasing) said: “Out of the 26 companies that applied to tender, we shortlisted four. Pureprint’s scores across each part of the contract award criteria were consistent and to a high level. We were especially impressed during a site visit which gave us a feel for the efficiency and ethos of the business. Pureprint’s approach to environmental best practice and overall social responsibility were obvious from our visit. Their open and honest approach was welcomed by the contract award panel.”
