We’ve made some big upgrades across our digital and on-demand production setup – expanding our capacity, speed, and flexibility at both our Uckfield and Gosport sites.
This latest investment comes in response to continued growth across our publishing, brand, and e-commerce clients who rely on Pureprint for outstanding-quality, fast-turnaround, and personalised print.

What’s new
At our Uckfield Digital Plant, we’ve added two new HP Indigo 7K presses and one HP Indigo 18K, while our two existing HP Indigo 100K presses will be upgraded to 120K models early next year.
We’ve also relocated two HP Indigo 7900 presses and a Horizon BQ-470 PUR binding line to our Ashford Colour site in Gosport, giving both locations the capability to handle a wider range of short-run, high-quality digital work.
As part of the project, Ashford Colour is now fully integrated into our connected production platform, meaning jobs can be intelligently routed between sites for maximum efficiency – whether you’re ordering a single personalised book or thousands of marketing pieces.
More capacity, more capability
This expansion takes our HP Indigo fleet to seven devices across the Group, supported by HP’s latest AI-driven automation and quality tools.
Alongside this, we’ve added a full suite of new finishing technology, including:
-
Horizon BQ-500 PUR binder with in-line HT1000 variable trimmer
-
Autobond 76 Mini Laminator
-
Zeno 360 IND Case Making and Casing-In Systems
-
Duplo 648 with inline folder
Together, these upgrades give us more on-demand firepower than ever – faster turnaround, more finishing options, and even greater consistency across every run.
Why it matters
For our customers, this means:
-
More flexibility – from one-off personalised products to large-scale campaigns
-
Faster turnaround – thanks to increased digital and finishing capacity
A word from our CEO
“These investments support growing volumes from our roster of on-demand publishers, brands, and partners, as well as our e-commerce partners.” said Mark Handford, CEO of Pureprint Group.
“We’re particularly interested to see how AI and HP’s new productivity tools will help shape the future of our operations. The new devices have bedded in well and are fully operational ahead of the peak season for on-demand, digital, and personalised products.”

Part of a wider upgrade plan
Ahead of our 100-year anniversary, we’ve been busy upgrading and expanding sites across the Group to ensure we’re ready for the next century of print.
Over the past year, we’ve welcomed Ashford Colour into Pureprint Group, adding further expertise and capacity in digital and on-demand production. This latest investment builds on that integration, linking Ashford Colour into our connected production platform and expanding its equipment and capabilities.
It also follows new Durst printers and PlastGrommet banner lines at Pureprint Imprint in Newcastle, and the installation of a new Heidelberg litho press and finishing equipment in Uckfield in 2024.
Together, these upgrades form part of a long-term plan to modernise and future-proof our production network – expanding our capacity, improving efficiency, and strengthening our ability to deliver outstanding print and marketing services for every customer.
