Superagency by Reid Hoffman

Award winning personalised publishing, showcasing the power of AI and digital print
We’ve worked with Reid Hoffman (co-founder of LinkedIn, author and podcaster) on a number of projects. The launch of his latest book Superagency was a little special.
The book explores AI’s positive potential. Our role was to help make that idea tangible, through the production of carefully considered, one-of-one editions delivered to world leaders, tech founders, and cultural figures.
The project was recognised at the 2025 Digital Printer Awards, winning in the ‘Designed For Digital Print & Finishing’ category.

The Brief
For the launch, Reid and the team wanted more than a standard publishing run.
The requirements were clear:
– Produce beautifully made hardcover books
– Personalise every copy to its recipient, across the cover, inner text pages, and full-colour avatar sections
– Combine AI-generated content with high-quality digital print and premium finishing

What We Delivered:
A bespoke digital publishing workflow producing genuinely one-of-one hardcover books.
Reid’s team generated the AI-driven content and assets, which were passed directly into our personalisation API. From there, each edition flowed automatically into production, allowing large-scale personalisation without slowing quality or turnaround.
The books were produced to a premium specification, with personalisation built throughout, including the cover, inner text pages, and full-colour avatar sections.
Key features included:
– Hardcover case binding with square back and ribbons
– Premium case cover and bespoke dust jackets
– FSC-certified text and G F Smith colorplan endpapers
– Extensive variable data printing throughout the book
– Consistent, high-quality finishing across every copy
Our HP Indigo digital presses handled the precision of variable data and colour, while our finishing department ensured accuracy, consistency, and presentation at scale.

How It Worked
– Custom APIs connected AI-generated content directly to production
– Weekly batches of personalised books flowed automatically into print
– HP Indigo presses handled variable data and image quality
– Global distribution covered private deliveries and public orders

The Result
Personalised editions reached figures including The Pope, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Arianna Huffington, Sam Altman, and many others. The book appeared across major media and helped spark wider discussion around AI, authorship, and the future of publishing.
The project was recognised with Made for Digital Print & Finishing at the Digital Printer Awards 2025, with the judges comments being: “This entry demonstrated a full understanding of designing a product for digital print. A very innovative example of variable print encapsulating AI features!”
The book really showcases the power of personalisation, eliciting responses such as the one below from Hillary Clinton, when looking through her personalised edition.
